Club Competition Rules
Clear guidelines for submitting images and participating in monthly club competitions.
Everything you need to know to prepare and submit your entries correctly.
At a glance

Important Rules
- Work must be your own original work
- Copyright remains with the photographer
- No duplicate entries will be allowed (similar images, even if converted to monochrome)
- Same image cannot be entered more then once
How to Submit Your Images
Step 1: Prepare your Image
Edit and finalise your photograph before submission. Make sure it meets competition standards.
Step 2: Check Image Size
Ensure your image is JPEG format and within the required size limits (1920px max width, 1080px max height).
Step 3: Log in to Photovault
Access the online Photovault system using your member login details.
Step 4: Upload Your Entries
Access the online Photovault system using your member login details.
Step 5: Submit Before Deadline
Select your category and upload up to 4 images for the month.
Image Size Requirements Explained
Images must be submitted in JPEG format and must not exceed the following maximum dimensions:
- Maximum width: 1920 pixels
- Maximum height: 1080 pixels
What this means in practice
Images do not need to be exactly 1920 × 1080. You may submit images of different proportions, as long as they stay within the maximum limits.
For example:
- An image can be 1920 × 600
- An image can be 1200 × 1080
- An image can be 800 × 1080
- An image can be 1920 × 1080
Key rule to remember
- One side of the image may reach the maximum (1920 width or 1080 height)
- The other side must stay within the limit and cannot exceed it
Why does this rule exist?
This keeps all images consistent for projection during competition evenings while still allowing photographers to maintain their original composition and aspect ratio.

3 Judges per Evening

Each Judge Scored out of 15
Feedback provided on pre-determined criteria
Gold and other ratings awarded
Entry Limits and Deadlines
